Full Time, Permanent Registered Nurse in Intravascular Management Clinic

The Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough is looking for an exceptional Registered Nurse to join our Integrated Vascular Management Clinic (IVMC) who shares our passion to deliver excellent patient focused care. KCC is a busy, progressive, fully accredited facility serving a large geographic population. There are 7 Cardiologists and over 80 clinical and support staff at KCC. IVMC offers an extensive range of services including specialized programs in vascular, heart failure, atrial fibrillation and cardiac care.

This is a permanent, full-time (Monday-Friday) position for a Registered Nurse with 2-3 years recent cardiac (acute care, cardiac cath lab, telemetry, ER) experience who has an in-depth understanding of cardiovascular health and vascular disease to work in collaboration with cardiologists to assist with in-depth health histories, physical assessments, and health teaching.

Role Summary:

  • Assess and triage referrals to Chest Pain, HF, and AFib clinics
  • Performs head-to-toe physical assessments
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory values and ECGs
  • Work in collaboration with our Cardiologists to provide ongoing patient management, assessment, and illness prevention
  • Assistance with managing medications and therapies for heart failure and atrial fibrillation treatments
  • Provide ongoing patient and family health teaching regarding treatment plans, diet, self-monitoring, and self-assessment
  • Optimization of quality of life, symptom management and prevention of hospital admissions

Qualifications:

  • Current valid registration with the College of Nurses (CNO)
  • Current valid membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Minimum 2-3 years recent cardiac experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Congestive Heart Failure is required
  • Certification in Coronary Care 1 an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular disease, coronary care, and commonly associated comorbidities
  • Excellent knowledge of ECG interpretation and arrhythmia interpretation
  • Excellent knowledge of cardiac medications
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.

Registered Nurse – Full Time Position in Cardiac Device Clinic

The Peterborough Regional Device Clinic located in the Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough, Ontario is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team who shares our passion to deliver excellent patient-focused care. KCC is a busy, progressive, fully accredited, state-of-the-art facility serving a large geographic population. There are 7 Cardiologists and over 80 clinical and support staff at KCC. The clinic is outside the Peterborough hospital and works collaboratively with the hospital to provide diagnostic services. Our facility offers an extensive range of services including specialized programs in vascular, stroke, diabetes and cardiac care. We are committed to providing high quality, exceptional and compassionate care in a fulfilling work environment to meet the cardiac device care needs of our community. This is a position that allows for a great work life balance as our normal workdays are Monday to Friday with no evenings or weekends.

This is a full time position for Registered Nurses who are experienced in ICD and pacemaker care, acute care, or cardiology/telemetry.

Role Summary:

  • Provide thorough, competent interrogation and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients including Pacemakers, Implantable Loop Recorders and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators
  • Device interrogations will be completed in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as remotely monitored patients
  • Completion of reports and documentation in the Electronic Health Record as well as reporting acute/urgent issues to Cardiologist and/or other Care Provider
  • Collaborate directly with physicians, industry and other device team members
  • Monitor supplies & replenish stock as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Report to the Device Clinic Team Lead, Clinical Coordinator and Cardiologists as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience in ICD and Pacemaker Care and asset
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses (CNO) in good standing
  • Current member of Registered Nurses of Ontario (RNAO)
  • Basic Life Support (CPR); current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) an asset

Registered Cardiovascular Technologist – Full Time Position in Cardiac Stress Testing

Full-Time Permanent Registered Cardiovascular Technologist – Holter Department

Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough ON is a busy, progressive facility with 8 Cardiologists and over 100 clinical and support staff, serving a large geographical population. Our facility offers an extensive range of services including specialized programs in vascular, stroke, diabetes and cardiac care.

This is a full time permanent position for a Registered Cardiovascular Technologist to join the Ambulatory Monitoring Department.

Monday to Friday- 8am to 430pm.

Role Summary:

  • Scan and create preliminary holter and blood pressure monitor reports for Cardiologist Interpretation.
  • Apply holter and blood pressure monitors to patients.
  • Patient education
  • Cleaning/Disinfecting/Maintaining equipment.
  • PRHC In-Pt holter hook up (reliable personal transportation needed)
  • Report to the Ambulatory Monitoring Team Lead and Cardiologists as required.
